Imagination was conceived by Paul Stokes as a Studio album (Glenmoor Studio’s) containing undercurrents of classical though remaining strongly Electronic and New Age. This is a release from his back catalogue where it is going to be more widely available for download. It is being released by BelieveDigital on many download platforms. Being well received by the public previously on a smaller scale, more people will be able to enjoy the album on major download platforms. In small trials, Imagination has had critical acclaim by the public when played on Internet and Capital Radio etc.
Paul Stokes (Stokes-Herbst) ) track record includes being in bands and writing music for the Media and solo albums. His music can now be found in many countries around the world on film, shorts, advertising etc. Crossrythmns says “here can be found a pile of influences coming together to make something new”. Imagination is Electronica but is Sc-Fi influenced, with crossing of musical boundaries, creating pleasant but creatively inspiring themes. It will pull you out and in!
You are invited to explore perhaps deep parallel worlds or deep intertwining themes which will cause you chase dreams……in your head…… The album is available from most reputable digital download stores including itunes/Musiczeit/BelieveDigital and hundreds of others. Contact details:

Hi,
Linconshire training Jets have been grounded today due to Ash Cloud deposits in their engines. They were RAF Typhoons. The base in Coningsby are checking all their aircraft after four were found to have ash deposits! I think we should have been more cautious about going to fly jets straight away-does finance or government/people pressure/company pressure take precedence over life? We don’t scientifically know the risks we are taking yet. The CAA have only 3-4 days worth of evidence, and that is not enough. This event proves the problem is more serious than at first thought, and we need more time!
Hi,
Life is a combination of up’s and down’s, and I wonder how we treat the things that would trip us up in life? Human beings as God’s Creation have a vast capacity to overcome. There are those who have overcome immense difficulties in life to become ‘warriors’. With everything ‘plain-sailing’ for we have lost the art of learning. It has been said that we only learn through our mistakes, which I believe is true. Churchhill commented on one of his Generals that he was like a ‘Iron Peg in Ice’-that is almost immovable. Life is to be overcome-not for it to overcome us!
This Volcano for me adds that ‘variation’ in life-that ’spontaneous thing’ that can beautiful or tiresome or death for some. Nonetheless, how we look at this can be negative or positive-you could look at the death side and claim all is not lost or the Life side (Which also my Christian beliefs hold true) and say there is always something of beauty and positivity to be found. I have lost friends, had immediate family members incur brain damage, have had tragedy personally, but I can always see the positive in life.
It depends on what we ‘look‘ at what we ‘see‘. When we are taught to ’see’ the best-suddenly it dawns on us that without difficulty their is no growth, no change, no modification of personally damaging behaviour etc.
Therefore to me, Volcano’s, hard things, penniless (I’ve been there) nature threatening and non-threatening or sheer beauty bring that spontaneity to life which brings that fun element or that depth of understanding which brings a richness and depth and joy. Music quite specifically expresses that for me in a neat way-it is without words and therefore cannot be tainted by words which carry so much evil at times. It can express goodness, Peace, joy, as well as great tragedies etc. I have written the Classical work ‘STORM’ as my first experiment into the expressing this ‘Torment’ side of Nature in weather.
Once again I hear the Ash Dust Cloud begin to bring that ‘British moan’ out in people-a lot of us have never had it so good!
Hi All,
For those who have Asthma the Volcanic Ash cloud, I cant give advice except what I would do in the circumstances. As I have it, I’m not going to worry too much, and make sure I have medication to hand. I think there is more than enough to worry about theses days, and anxiety can bring on asthma attacks.
Looking at the distance for the UK from the Volcano on the maps, it’s a few hundred miles and I think the cloud will have dispersed a lot in the wind I think. Obviously if the advice form medical sources is different, that is priority.
I suppose there is the faint possibility that some dust will end up in the lower atmosphere, but hey, we take in petrol and diesel fumes at a high concentration every day. Personally I think that is a greater risk.
I heard a report from a vulcanologist today that this volcano is small compared to Mt St Helens eruption, so we can be assured that things wont get too out of hand! If the earth puts ‘that one’ this way, we have to cope. Even though we asthma sufferers have extra difficulties in this unusual situation, listening to latest information, I don’t think it is going to be too bad.
Stay cool
Cheers
Hi
Interesting about the Ash cloud. Volcanic ash can kill bird’s-sad if this occurs!
I will write some music about this! In fact I wrote ‘Storm’ inspired by overhead Storm.
It’s an interesting source of inspiration for musicians. Composers will be fascinated by the opportunity.

Hi All,
For those who are Mastering audio, the debated questions go round the topics of polish, spectral content, harmonic content etc. For me I have for years used Steinbergs Wavelab with material which is almost of entirely computer generated audio. As you may well know, many complain that audio composed entirely by computer can be cold and harsh rather than warm and silky and endearing. I have been aware of these views and in the back of my mind, have felt that my material lacks that certain ’something’ as described above. I have several albums released via Digital Download stores-itunes/Amazon/Musiczeit etc, and they were processed with Wavelab.
Recently, I reworked the studio enabling me to include ‘external hardware’ using Logic Pro Studio. Suddenly, I remembered a piece of gear that I stored for a few years called an SPL Vitalizer. On research, I found out that it was the ‘Rolls Royce’ of exciters using Physco-Acoustic properties rather than the addition of harmonics to lift the quality of the audio. SPL have created a Plugin copy of the Vitalizer Mk II that is used as ‘replacement’.
As I have the original, I inserted the Vitalizer and got a track ready for experiment. The track for trials was an Electronic track that I have written for a future EP and has the required ‘atmospheric’ passages. I set up the Vitalizer and put the audio through the Vitalizer path adjusting the controls for the smooth and silky sound that my computer setup apparently ‘cant’ produce.
On comparison the difference astounded me! Here was the sound that I had missed-even though trying to generate it with ‘warming’ plugins imported within Wavelab also PSP’s Vintage warmer etc.
Does this mean that I am a convert to analogue gear? Well I am ‘really over the moon’ and ‘wonder’ at the design in these units-astounding. I am now a convert to the principle of mixing analogue gear with the Computer Studio as much as I can as money allows!

Hi All,
I am glad to report that the continuing release of my albums continues with ‘Chthonic Netherworld’ on a wider scale. It is released in nearly 260 countries by BelieveDigital.
It contains Electronic Sytnth music created for Film & TV some of which has been released in America and elsewhere. Containing Sci-Fi backgrounds, Synth Leads and and Sc-Fi Pads it takes you to other worlds and through space to Alien Worlds. Your imagination can run riot-the music was partly created for Aliens operating on human beings!-aaaaarrrrrrrggggg-as part of a diploma in writing ‘Music for the Media’.
I take inspiration from many sources from Ian Boddy to Sc-Fi music and Films. The studio equipment used is the latest gear-Kore 2 and it’s many synthesizers to Propellor heads Reason. Hopefully people will get the benefit of the latest sounds taking them to the future!

Hi,
I am disappointed as well as the Scientists with the news that the LHC is to close for modifications for a year at the end of 2011. It is to address design issues. Joints between the machines magnets must be strengthened to cope with the 14Tev the higher operating state. As a musician and composer, this affects directly my ‘ inspiration source’ for the work that I am currently producing. This is the exploration and interpretation of particle collisions and fields through Music. So far, I have been able to examine with two tracks, the effects of Fields and collisions. I find want to interpret the collision and the resulting spin. In a lecture at the Darlington Astronomy club the other day, it was said that some Gamma Ray particles have the equivalent energy of a tennis ball travelling at 100mph! Imagine one sub-atomic particle having that much power/kick! How can I replicate that with Music? I have some idea’s. I work out the idea’s sometimes a bit graphically, or imagine what the equivalent in music would be say-a spinning particle would have a known frequency or pitch. Though the spinning particle might have a far higher frequency of spin than can be replicated by a note, you can down size the frequency and using a representative note-frequency, approximate all other spins to their relative frequencies. Fields might be represented by held chords and so on…..further using Synths and orchestral arrangements etc to create the piece. I hope this gives a little insight into the methods used at times for inspiration…..
Cheers….
Hi,
It came as a ‘clout round the back of the head’, it was as the dawn of time! Thunder clattered and it was born….? Gently but strongly like a flowing river, the idea began to take it’s course and we knew-Ian Boddy and myself, realised that a 3-4 yearly Curry was the answer! Soon it was realised that there was to be a 3rd member! Marcus (Soiled) Howarth ’fitted the bill’ being Electronic/Punk/Distortion ilk! Subjects include discussions on Earthly and Heavenly topic’s, my self and Ian being Armchair Astronomers. Jealous? lol……! Hey why don’t you create a similar such object……..?
Cheers
Hi,
Scientists have captured what may be the fist specks of interstellar dust-the dust roams in the space of the Universe. The satellite ‘Stardust’ landed back on earth in 2006, but scientists have only just released their results although they are not conclusive but likely. To capture the dust, an arm was suspended with a special gel on a pad. The microscopic particles were viewed under microscope called Aerogel. Dr Westphal made the announcement. The particle initially called ‘particle 30′ has been renamed ‘Orion’ by it’s finder in the aerogel. To collect another speck would $300 million Dollars-so that’s what it’s worth!
